(Qabadaq) Cappadocia: historical name of a region of Asia Minor (modern Turkey) located in Nuşehir
The Cappadocians inhabited the region during the time of Herodotus.
This region stretches from the Taurus Mountains to the Black Sea.
It is bordered by the Taurus Mountains to the south and to the east by the Euphrates and the Armenian highlands, to the north by the historic region of Pontus and to the west by Lycaonia and eastern Galatia.
The name Kabakdiq has survived in many Western sources and in historical Christianity, as it is used today to define the region as a tourist.
This region is characterized by its charming nature, its amazing natural mountain chimneys, as well as its rich history of civilization.
In the past, the Hittites, Persians, Assyrians, and then the Greeks followed, and these groups became the Hellenistic civilization.
During the Middle Ages and Byzantine times and after the installation of the Armenians in this region, it was invaded by the Turkish tribes, who made up the majority of the population of Cappadocia in 1915.
